“The 2018 Bellevue bottling from Daniel Bouland is also a ripe, but not overly ripe example of the vintage, coming in again at a perfectly civilized 13.5 percent and delivering a beautifully complex bouquet of red and black cherries, a bit of sweet cranberry, smoke, complex soil tones, fresh thyme, a touch of orange peel and overt notes of currant leaf in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and gorgeously sappy at the core, with excellent soil signature, ripe, well-integrated tannins and outstanding length and grip on the complex and very well-balanced finish. Great juice. 2025-2055+.”
