Q1 2021 ACKER
MARKETS INSIGHTS
Acker’s Fine & Rare Index, the bellwether for fine wine overall, continues its strong performance, building on last year’s
momentum, with an increase of 9.28% in Q1 alone, as compared to the S&P 500’s 5.77%, the MSCI World Index’s
4.52%, and the Hang Seng’s 4.21%. The underlying conditions of continued liquidity from ongoing fiscal stimulus, US$4
trillion in wealth creation by the top 1% in 2020, and rising concerns of potential future inflation, make real assets a favored
asset class for investors.

ACKER'S 2020
ANNUAL REPORT
2020 marked Acker’s 200th year in business and one of the most challenging 12 months for the world in those two centuries. Acker hosted an enviable 18 live, or “live online,” auctions, generating over US$122 million, the largest total ever achieved by any wine auction firm, and closing out the year as the company’s best on record, firmly positioned as the world’s top fine wine auction house.
